BACKGROUND

railway station holidays The Southern Region was a region of British Railways from 1948. The region covered south London, southern England and the south coast, including the busy commuter belt areas of Kent, Sussex and Surrey.

The region ceased to be an operating unit in its own right in the 1980s and was wound up at the end of 1992.

This is the Whistle Stop Cottage formerly named the Engine Shed converted into a 3 bedroom cottage that can sleep 5+Cot. Seabank – Selsey

Positioned right on the sea front, a charming house built around two lovingly restored 19th century Stroudley railway carriages. They were originally used on the Brighton to London line and then after the First World War converted into holiday homes along the Sussex coast.

Railway Cottage – Bridport

Sleepers Cottage – Gorselands Caravan Park

Sleepers cottage is the former Portesham village railway station on the Weymouth to Abbotsbury branch line which was closed in the Beeching era. Now tastefully converted to a comfortable two bedroom cottage sleeping 4 with high ceilings and platform preserved.
