An exclusive, luxury, ground floor apartment made from the public rooms of the original station for Castle Howard. It enjoys an acre and a half of well-fenced garden and private parking.
Platform 1 is the result of a total refurbishment completed in 2009 to create a contemporary living space of a very high quality and comfort. It conserves the main architectural features combined with cool modern style.
The self-catering accommodation can easily provide for up to four persons comprising of one double bedroom with en-suite; a separate shower room with WC; a large ‘dream’ kitchen and a very spacious lounge with a comfortable sofa bed for two.
Space is something you’ll find in abundance – this was after all one of the most imposing stations on the line in its day, as befitted the Earl of Carlisle and his important guests who used it. The sitting room, for example, was the former waiting room, and the large arched windows flanked by the original shutters allow the morning sunlight to cascade into this delightful room. Two comfortable sofas and a large dining table with chairs are arranged within the roomy interior. It’s a very pleasing environment in which to relax, absorb yourself with your favourite book or watch Sky digital free-view channels on the large Sony Brava flat-screen TV. And if you should need to stay connected to the internet, wi-fi is available at no extra charge.
We are positively dog welcoming not just pet friendly.
