Located in the rolling hills of North Herefordshire, Rowden Mill Station is a restored GWR railway station on the former Leominster / Worcester line.
Externally the restoration is done in exacting detail, recreating the look of the station during the latter years of operation and features platform lights, signboards, timetables and posters of the late 1940’s / early 1950’s. The site includes several hundred metres of double track, two platforms and much more by way of recreated detail.
The station buildings are situated on the main platform, providing views across the whole of the station site along with the relaxing panorama that is North Herefordshire. The very large station canopy over the platform provides ideal al-fresco dining at the large farmhouse table, a large gas BBQ is provided. After dark the whole platform can be lit by original platform lighting.
Internally the station has been restored sympathetically, with period features throughout including sugg lamps, a luxury bathroom in period style and wood burning stoves.
With two bedrooms in the main station building alongside the parcel office featuring a double bed plus a sofabed for additional guests, Rowden Mill Station can provide for parties of up to 4 in the main station building or for parties of 6+ if hiring both the main station building and parcel office together. Please call to discuss if you would like to rent for above 6 people.
Regarding small children, Rowden Mill Station has platforms, railway lines and other railway detail with a trip hazard which we can not realistically mitigate. We suggest that our site is suitable for older children and those not yet independently mobile. Please call to discuss if unsure of suitability, we do not charge for babies in travel cots.
