The Parcel Office at Rowden Mill Station is located in North Herefordshire, at a former GWR railway station along the Bromyard Branch between Leominster and Worcester.
Externally the restoration is done in exacting detail, recreating the look of the station during the latter years of operation and features platform lights, signboards, timetables and posters of the late 1940’s / early 1950’s.
Along the main platform, The Parcel Office is a self-contained studio with ensuite bathroom and kitchen facilities. This large room also has a double bed, a table with two chairs, a wardrobe and a sofa-bed.
With a large screen and projector complete with a DVD/Blu-ray player and speaker system along with a fast internet connection, the Parcel Office also offers a fabulous home-cinema experience.
It benefits from black-out blinds at the skylights providing a cosy atmosphere for a most enjoyable time.
The Parcel Office has an unspoilt view of the rolling hills opposite the station. While relaxing on the sofa, the beautiful scenery is a constant companion- with the changing features of nature and wildlife throughout the year. It is a perfect place for bird-watching or spotting the sun and moon rises on the horizon.
With two sliding doors, one glazed and a solid wood one, direct access from the platform as well as privacy are both achieved harmoniously and in-keeping with the character of the building.
The incredibly efficient wood-burning stove ensures warmth in the winter months and provides a snug place by the fire for those evenings when required at other times of the year. A supply of wood and kindling over winter is included.
The Parcel Office provides a perfect escape for a couple. If you would prefer to hire it as an annexe to the Station Building for larger families or groups of friends, please see our separate listing (sleeping 6 in total).
The site includes several hundred metres of double track, two platforms and much more by way of recreated detail. For sunny days, a large gas BBQ is provided.
